Role Overview

We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join CODVO.AI's Engineering team and help build robust, scalable data infrastructure that powers intelligent AI solutions. In this role, you'll design and maintain data pipelines, optimize database performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality and accessibility. Your work will directly impact how our clients leverage data-driven insights to transform their businesses.


What You'll Do

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines and ETL processes that ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into our data warehouse
  • Optimize database performance by writing efficient SQL queries, implementing indexing strategies, and monitoring system health metrics
  • Develop and maintain data infrastructure using cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data tools to support analytics and machine learning workflows
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand requirements and deliver data solutions that enable advanced analytics and AI model training
  • Implement data quality frameworks including validation checks, error handling, and monitoring to ensure data accuracy and reliability
  • Document technical specifications and maintain clear code documentation to support team knowledge sharing and system maintainability
  • Troubleshoot data issues and performance bottlenecks, providing timely resolutions and implementing preventative measures
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies and best practices, recommending improvements to our data architecture and tooling

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data infrastructure role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, or Informatica
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with at least one cloud data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala, or Go)
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Apache Spark or other distributed computing frameworks
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data cataloging tools
  • Experience with real-time data streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows and feature engineering
  • Contributions to open-source data projects
  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) or similar transformation frameworks
