Desktop Engineer / Administrator Position: Desktop Engineer / Endpoint Administrator Experience: 7+ Years Location: Bay Area/ Santa Clara, USA


Role Summary We are looking for a skilled Desktop Engineer / Administrator with hands-on experience in OS imaging, endpoint security/antivirus management, and Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) for our global customer. This role involves supporting end user devices, ensuring compliance and security, managing the lifecycle of desktops/laptops, and delivering high quality technical support.


Key Responsibilities • Support during USA hours and flexibility to be available during non-business hours for any outage support. • Work with OEM to handle issues and support • Manage and support Windows 10/11 desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. • Handle software installations, updates, patching, and troubleshooting. • Perform L2/L3 technical support for end-user computing issues. • Maintain hardware inventory and asset lifecycle documentation.


OS Imaging & Deployment • Create, maintain, and deploy Windows OS images using: o Microsoft Intune Autopilot o SCCM / MECM (if used) o MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) • Support zero-touch deployment and automated provisioning. • Perform driver updates, task sequence creation, and gold image maintenance.


Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager) • Manage and enforce Intune device compliance policies. • Configure and deploy applications through Intune. • Manage device enrollment, conditional access, and MDM/MAM policies. • Monitor device health, compliance, and security posture. • Create and manage configuration profiles and security baselines.


Antivirus & Endpoint Security • Administer enterprise antivirus solutions such as: o Microsoft Defender for Endpoint o CrowdStrike / McAfee / Symantec (as applicable) • Monitor threats, alerts, and quarantine activity. • Ensure endpoint protection, vulnerability patching, and compliance. • Perform health checks and remediation for non-compliant devices.


General Technical Responsibilities • Troubleshoot hardware issues (laptops, desktops, peripherals). • Support Office 365 applications and productivity tools. • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory / Azure AD. • Provide support for VPN, network connectivity, and remote users. • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.


Required Skills • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and desktop support. • Hands-on experience with Intune / Endpoint Manager. • Expertise in OS imaging, deployment, and device provisioning. • Experience administering enterprise antivirus and endpoint security tools. • Knowledge of Group Policy, Active Directory, and Azure AD. • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.


Preferred Qualifications • Experience with SCCM/MECM, MDT, or similar deployment tools. • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation. • Experience with Autopilot deployment and Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP). • Certifications: o Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator o CompTIA A+ / Network+ o MD-102 or related Microsoft certifications


Education • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
