Senior Edge Platform Engineers - Job Description Role overview Codvo AI is hiring a senior software architect for its client to evaluate third-party software and hardware partners for its Edge platform and to build and deploy software prototypes. The role starts with architecture design, technical assessment, and vendor evaluation, and will move into building proofs of concept. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with incomplete requirements, can define the problem as well as solve it, and can take an idea from analysis to working software with direction. The role works closely with product and engineering leadership. Responsibilities
Design architecture options for integrating candidate software and hardware partners into the Edge platform. Research and evaluate candidate partners, including AWS Alexa, BrilliantAssistant (SoftAcuity), and other solutions identified through market research, against technical, security, and integration criteria. Write architecture recommendations and technical designs, and present trade-offs to leadership. Define evaluation criteria and test plans where requirements are not yet written. Build proofs of concept, then prototypes, once the direction is validated. Work with the team to onboard into the Edge platform and its current initiatives. Document decisions, assumptions, and open questions as the work progresses. Required qualifications • 8 or more years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior architect or lead role. • Proven experience designing distributed or edge systems that combine software with hardware or devices. • Track record of turning ambiguous objectives into architecture, design, and working code. • Comfortable making sound decisions with incomplete requirements, and able to state assumptions clearly. • Strong written communication for architecture documents and evaluation reports. • Strong experience building full-stack applications, including modern front-end frameworks (React preferred), back-end services, and Python for AI and machine learning workloads. Experience shipping software to production. • Deep experience architecting and building cloud services on AWS Preferred qualifications • Experience with voice assistants or conversational AI platforms, including Alexa Skills or Alexa Custom Skills. • Familiarity with medical device software environments. • Familiarity with IoT and device management • Experience evaluating third-party vendor platforms and writing build-versus-buy analyses. • Experience with edge computing, on-premises deployment
