Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Management Consultant within Digital Transformation focusing on Conceptualisation to shape and develop high-value digital initiatives across the organization. The role will focus primarily on the early stages of the transformation lifecycle, working with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities, define business problems, conceptualize Data & AI solutions, assess feasibility and value, develop business cases, and establish implementation roadmaps. The consultant will bridge business requirements and technology capabilities, ensuring proposed initiatives are strategically aligned, commercially justified, technically feasible, and sufficiently defined before progressing into implementation. Key Responsibilities Digital Initiative Conceptualisation • Identify and assess digital transformation opportunities across business and operational functions. • Lead discovery workshops to understand business challenges, pain points, improvement opportunities, and strategic priorities. • Translate business problems into clearly defined Data, AI, analytics, automation, and cloud-enabled use cases. • Develop project concepts, problem statements, objectives, scope, expected outcomes, assumptions, and high-level requirements. • Work with technical specialists to define high-level solution concepts and evaluate potential technology approaches. • Assess initiative feasibility across business, technology, data, security, integration, and operational dimensions. • Develop conceptual project plans, delivery approaches, resource requirements, dependencies, risks, and indicative timelines. • Establish prioritization frameworks and support the development of a structured portfolio of digital initiatives. Business Case & Value Realization • Develop business cases covering expected benefits, costs, risks, assumptions, and investment requirements. • Define measurable KPIs and success criteria linked to business outcomes. • Quantify potential benefits such as productivity improvements, cost optimization, reduced downtime, enhanced safety, and improved decision-making. • Support ROI, cost-benefit, and value assessments to enable informed investment decisions. • Define benefit realization approaches and establish baselines for subsequent project implementation. Stakeholder Engagement • Engage business leaders, engineering teams, IT/OT stakeholders, data teams, and AI specialists to collaboratively shape transformation opportunities. • Facilitate workshops to achieve alignment on business requirements, priorities, solution concepts, and expected benefits. • Prepare executive-level presentations, concept papers, business cases, and decision materials. • Communicate complex Data & AI concepts in clear business language for senior leadership. • Coordinate with internal SMEs, technology teams, and external partners during feasibility and conceptual design activities. Roadmap & Portfolio Development • Develop digital transformation roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities. • Assess and prioritize initiatives based on strategic alignment, feasibility, business value, complexity, risk, and readiness. • Identify dependencies between Data, AI, cloud, OT, and enterprise technology initiatives. • Define transition plans for approved concepts to move from conceptualisation into detailed design and implementation. Required Skills & Experience • Digital Transformation & Project Management: 10+ years of experience in project management, consulting, digital transformation, or technology-enabled business improvement, preferably with PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification. • Conceptualisation & Business Analysis: Strong experience in opportunity identification, requirements discovery, use-case definition, feasibility assessment, business case development, and roadmap creation. • Oil & Gas Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of upstream, midstream, or downstream operations, with exposure to industrial and OT environments such as SCADA, historians, WITSML, or Petrel. • Data & AI Literacy: Strong understanding of enterprise Data & AI concepts, including AI/ML, Generative AI, RAG, knowledge graphs, analytics, and data engineering. • Cloud & Data Platforms: Working knowledge of Azure-based Data & AI environments, Databricks, GCP, SAP, and enterprise integration landscapes. • Value Assessment: Ability to develop ROI models, cost-benefit assessments, KPIs, value hypotheses, and benefits-realization frameworks. • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to facilitate workshops and engage executives, business stakeholders, engineers, IT/OT teams, data specialists, and external partners. • Executive Communication: Strong capability in preparing concise concept papers, business cases, roadmaps, presentations, and decision papers for senior leadership. • Oil & Gas Governance: Understanding of cybersecurity, data governance, regulatory, HSE, and operational constraints affecting digital initiatives in safety-critical environments.
