Location: Pune, India (Work From Office)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Senior (10+ Years)
Department: Engineering

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior SDET Performance Engineer to drive scalability, reliability, and performance validation across our cloud-native, microservices-based systems. In this role, you'll design and implement comprehensive performance testing strategies, build advanced automated frameworks, and partner with engineering, architecture, and SRE teams to ensure production-grade resilience. You'll leverage cutting-edge AI/ML techniques and observability tools to optimize system performance and predict potential bottlenecks before they impact users.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement end-to-end performance and load testing strategies for distributed microservices architectures, including load, stress, spike, endurance, and chaos testing scenarios
  • Build custom simulators, traffic generators, and mocks for complex system dependencies, enabling realistic performance validation in isolated environments
  • Develop fully automated performance test frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab) with intelligent reporting and insights
  • Define, measure, and track performance KPIs (latency, throughput, error rates, saturation, scalability limits) aligned with SRE principles (SLI/SLO, error budgets)
  • Analyze and optimize bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers; tune Azure services (AKS, compute, storage, networking), Redis caching, database queries, and messaging systems
  • Implement AI-driven observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, and APM tools; leverage AI/ML for anomaly detection, predictive capacity planning, and automated root cause analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, developers, product owners, and SRE teams to optimize system performance and drive resilience engineering initiatives
  • Lead RCA efforts for performance issues and production incidents; contribute to capacity planning and scalability strategy

What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 10+ years in QA, development, automation, or performance engineering with demonstrated expertise in performance testing
  • Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools (K6, JMeter, Gatling) and custom framework development
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, C#, Java, or equivalent)
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native design patterns
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS preferred) and the Azure cloud ecosystem
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Docker)
  • Expertise in database performance tuning (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, MariaDB)
  • Solid understanding of SRE principles, observability, and monitoring tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with contact center or SaaS platforms
  • Exposure to message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Knowledge of AIOps, AI-driven testing, and anomaly detection
  • Experience building custom performance tools or simulators from scratch
  • Familiarity with chaos engineering tools (Gremlin, Chaos Monkey)
  • Experience with advanced observability platforms (Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic)
  • Background in machine learning or data science applied to performance engineering

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives
  • Professional growth through exposure to cutting-edge AI/ML and cloud technologies
  • Collaborative culture working alongside talented engineers, architects, and SRE teams
  • Flexible work environment with work-from-office arrangement in Pune
  • Career development opportunities in emerging areas like AIOps and AI-driven testing
  • Impact-driven work on scalable, production-grade systems serving enterprise customers
