Senior BackEnd Engineer

Senior Backend Developer with a minimum of 5 years of backend development experience, with strong expertise in Node.js and frameworks such as NestJS and Express.js. will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining scalable backend services, including integrations with AI/ML models and external APIs. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable backend services using Node.js. • Develop RESTful APIs and backend services using NestJS and Express.js. • Integrate backend applications with AI/ML models, inference services, and AI platforms through APIs and SDKs. • Design and implement integrations with internal and third-party APIs. • Handle model inputs/outputs, data transformation, validation, authentication, and error handling for AI/ML integrations. • Implement asynchronous processing and background jobs for AI/ML workloads where required. • Work closely with AI/ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Frontend Developers, and DevOps teams to integrate models into production applications. • Design reliable API communication with appropriate timeouts, retries, error handling, logging, and monitoring. • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth 2.0, and API keys. • Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases and design efficient data access layers. • Write clean, modular, testable, and well-documented code. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to backend architecture and technical decisions. • Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance, scalability, and reliability. • Work within Agile/Scrum teams and manage development activities through Jira. Required Skills & Experience • 5+ years of professional backend development experience. • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js. • Strong experience with NestJS and Express.js. • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, authentication, authorization, and API security. • Experience integrating applications with AI/ML models and services. • Experience working with LLM APIs, ML inference APIs, or AI platforms is highly desirable. • Strong experience with third-party API integrations and SDKs. • Good understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and background processing. • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and/or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. • Experience with Git and modern software development practices. • Strong understanding of backend security, error handling, logging, and performance optimization. • Experience writing unit and integration tests. Preferred Skills • Experience with LLM applications, AI agents, RAG, embeddings, or vector databases. • Experience integrating with AI/ML frameworks or platforms. • Experience with WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE) for real-time AI applications. • Experience with Redis, message queues, or event streaming. • Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. • Experience with observability tools, API monitoring, and distributed systems. • Understanding of AI-specific concerns such as model latency, token usage, rate limits, model failures, and fallback mechanisms. Collaboration • Work closely with Product, AI/ML, Data, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams. • Translate technical and business requirements into robust backend solutions. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical discussions. • Track development tasks and deliverables using Jira.
